The Desert

Hacienda del Sol sits smack in the middle of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in the unpretentious town of Borrego Springs, population 3,429. It’s the only California town that is completely surrounded by a state park, and that’s just one bullet point in Borregos list of bragging rights.

Hiking

Favorites:

Palm Canyon Hike – back into the mountains, leading to a palm oasis. Start at the park visitor center or campgrounds.

Slot Canyon Hike --  a beautiful natural formation nestled in the heart of the state park. Map or call the visitor center.

Fonts Point -- best view! its a short walk from the parking area to the viewpoint. 4WD needed for the 4 mile dirt road drive to get there.
